The programs and activities are amazing during the year. Every activity is better than the last. The equine therapy they coordinated for us is one of my favorites, and rucking is also very therapeutic. Thanks!

Some of the staff seem like great people, but the org itself is pretty crooked. They charge the crap out of veteran organizations to participate in their events--meanwhile they appear to be profiting from recycling and corporate donors, with the money socked away in LLCs. No transparency, all shady.

I volunteered to help UWVC set up the Veterans Day parade this year. I did not attend any of the volunteer meetings ahead of time, but I was given clear instructions when I arrived. I had an amazing time helping with set up and watching the city unfold the morning of the parade. It was a wonderful day and all thanks for the UWVC. Highly recommended for their hard work putting together an amazing parade!

A professional group that works with the NYC veterans day parade. They employ good organizers who think on their feet.

Have volunteered for a couple of events the UWVC have put together, including the 2015 Parade.Everyone is a pleasure to work with and conduct themselves in a courteous and professional manner whilst displaying a personal touch appropriate for the event. Have met wonderful people through this organisation and look forward to working with them in the future!

UWVC puts on a great parade for Veterans Day. I am deeply honored to stand with my fellow veterans.

This org is actually improving, something almost unheard of. They are doing more and more to get out in the community, organizing events that actually appeal to more people, and more partner events. I think they need to improve their communication, though, since it's still pretty tough to know what's happening with them and what events are open and what are not.

They put together the Veterans day parade, which does what for veterans, I'm not exactly sure. Let's not get it twisted. The people who do this, do it for money and publicity. There was an entire "village" of resources devoted to vets on 53rd st. The parade ended at 51st/52nd and no one directed them to the village, so once again a vast array of resources focused in one place and time in NYC for veterans and went wasted. I personally got totally boned and spent the whole day NOT speaking to the veterans I was supposed it. Don't volunteer. Ask to get payed. The people asking you to volunteer are certainly taking home a check.
