I spent veterans day volunteering with this amazing group of military vets, first responders, church pastors, and students. Together we helped Afghanistan war refugees to move into their new homes to start life over. In spite of all the darkness we face today, there are still good people out there, doing good work.

VRL has gone above and beyond in assisting me personally. After only my first time volunteering with the organization, VRL reached out to make sure that I was ok during hard times. They believe that anyone who supports their humanitarian mission are forever brothers and sisters of VRL. Overall, VRL is by the far the most devoted NGO that I've volunteered with. Whether you are a vet, military family member, or volunteer, VRL is the answer.

As the proud grandchild of a decorated Vietnam Veteran, I'm no stranger to the desperate needs of America’s veteran population and the multitude of organizations that aspire to help them. I am also no stranger to how little has verifiably changed in terms of the excessively high rates of veteran unemployment, homelessness, and suicide. That knowledge, coupled with the heartfelt desire to effectively assist veterans just like my grandfather, is what brought me to Veterans Rebuilding Life (VRL) as a volunteer. Open 24/7, you can find VRL staff or volunteers assisting vets, or brainstorming programs to meet needs still outstanding in the community. Every member and volunteer has demonstrated the willingness to make personal sacrifices to ensure that a vet receives assistance. VRL has gone above and beyond in assisting me personally. After only my first time volunteering with the organization, VRL consistently reached out to me to make sure that myself and my family were ok in times of hardship. Their reasoning was that anyone who has given to the organization and the mission are forever members of the VRL family. VRL is the most sincere organization I have ever had the pleasure of volunteering with. Whether you are a vet in need of assistance, a military family member looking for support, or just hoping to make a difference, VRL will always welcome you.

As the proud grandchild of a highly decorated Vietnam Veteran, I am no stranger to the desperate needs of America’s veteran population and the multitude of organizations that aspire to help them. VRL is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that focuses on directly assisting those who were wounded during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and tackling the veteran suicide crisis. However, unlike many other organizations that I have come across, VRL gives 100% of every donation to those in need, a fact that is easily verifiable due to VRL financial transparency. In addition, VRL refuses funding from any source that might influence how they would be allocated, so that it can ensure that the only parties that benefit from donations are those highest in need (wounded veterans and children). I have never worked with an organization more committed to its mission, ethics, and values. Open 24/7, on any given night or any hour of the morning, you can find VRL staff or volunteers assisting veterans on the phone, perfecting projects current underway, or brainstorming new programs to meet needs still outstanding in the community. Every director, supporting member, and volunteer has demonstrated the willingness to make any personal sacrifice necessary to ensure that a veteran or child received the assistance that they needed. In my time here, VRL has yet to turn away any honorably discharged veteran that has come to them for help. In addition, VRL has gone above and beyond in assisting me personally. After only my first time volunteering with the organization, VRL consistently reached out to me to make sure that myself and my family were ok in times of hardship. Their reasoning was that anyone who has given to the organization and the mission are forever members of the VRL family. Overall, VRL is by the far the most forthright, devoted, and sincerely passionate organization that I have ever had the pleasure of volunteering with. Whether you are a veteran in need of direct assistance, a military family member looking for support, or a community member hoping to make a meaningful difference, VRL will empower you, treat you as family, and always welcome you home.

This organization and specifically [name redacted] has gone over and beyond when I was going through a tough time with my vehicle. Providing me the way to commute around the city has been a life saver while my vehicle was being repaired. As a veteran I am very thankful for the assistance when I least expected it and know you've impacted my life positively. Can't thank you all enough for all you do.

VRL is simply, the best. The organization as a whole and the gracious people who encompass VRL are truly there to help. I cannot say enough great words about this organization and, as a VRL volunteer, I'm grateful to be apart of the amazing community.

As a mental health clinician with the Dept. of Veterans Affairs, I've come to rely on Veterans Rebuilding Life, and the professional services they provide the veteran community of New York. Highly recommended for members of the medical community in-need of a reliable resource for outpatient care.

I never heard of Veterans Rebuilding Life, until the day I needed help. If you survived the NYC pandemic, then you know how little help was available. Politicians abandoned their posts, and there wasn't a charity in-sight. With no PPE, 1st-responders resorted to using duct-tape and plastic bags to protect themselves on the frontline. That's when a vehicle marked: "Veterans Rebuilding Life" drove up, and started handing-out boxes of N95 masks, latex gloves, and hand sanitizers. What did they ask for in return? NOTHING. Without their help, many of us would not be here today.

While NYC's politicians were too busy arguing amongst themselves, Veterans Rebuilding Life was busy delivering PPE supplies to everyone working on the frontlines of the Pandemic. Thank you VRL, EMS has got your back!

This refreshing local nonprofit provides NYC vets with effective services in a direct way that only a small, grassroots organization can. Recommended to both volunteers and donors alike.

This is a great local team of young vets just looking out for each another. We recently collaborated with VRL in the development of training and employment program aimed at NYC veterans. VRL supported every aspect of the programs development, from concept to completion. The focused efforts provided by VRL volunteers not only proved effective, but made the collaboration a real pleasure for everyone involved. Looking forward to the Veterans Day launch of this brand new program!

I'm proud to be associated with the only veterans organization that stood-up for every vet I know against every sleazy VA rep. and sleazy politician to ever abuse the phrase: "Thank you for your service."

I'm a Disabled Air Force Veteran and former Airborne Radar Technician on the AWACS. I went to Veterans Rebuilding Life for a helping hand after relocating from the Caribbean to NYC. I found Veterans Rebuilding Life (VRL) on Google and its been an amazing experience. They are very respectful and understand the trials of a military veteran in regards to the time consuming process of applying for Veterans Affairs (VA) resources and services. I was able to get some emergency food, clean clothes, socks, hygiene products as well as opportunity to work gigs to make money through Veterans Rebuilding Life (VRL) non-profit's huge list of supporters. I feel blessed to have stumbled on this non-profit that really does what they say to change the narrative of how veterans are being treated in this country. If your a person who's interested in donating to a non-profit that really gets to the root of the problem and provides a solution think of VeteransRebuildingLife.org they can use your donations to help more veterans like myself get on their feet. Thank you so much VRL!

Other organizations always have someone else to refer you to. Other organizations will "get back to you" as soon as they can. VRL is the only veterans organization that followed through and kept their promises. Veterans Rebuilding Life helped me when no one else could.

Veterans Rebuilding Life picks up where the VA, and other veteran-groups leave off. Staffed by volunteers vets, this nonprofit specializes in offering direct-aid to vets who are fed up the endless paperwork, waiting lines, and overall bull they endure when just asking for help. Now that i'm back on my feet, I've become a proud volunteer supporter of Veterans Rebuilding Life.

I am truly grateful that organizations like Veterans Rebuilding Life exist. If not, I would have given in to cynicism and given up on fighting for my military benefits after being turned away over and over again, by these so-called: "Veteran Service Organizations." VRL took my case and provided me consistent updates until 4 months later, when all of my issues with the Dept. of Veterans Affairs were 100% resolved! All at no cost to me or my family. I highly recommend this nonprofit organization to any vet-on the verge of giving up.

I have volunteered with lots of nonprofit organizations, but none of them compare to Veterans Rebuilding Life. When I first came in, it was hard to believe that none of the members take a salary, but I can attest to the fact that the entire staff is made up of volunteers, most of whom are veterans themselves. Every volunteer works so hard and absolutely 100% of every donation directly supports the humanitarian missions. Their impact on the veteran community is truly inspiring!

Veterans Rebuilding Life is one of the most passionate and professional organizations I have had the pleasure of interacting with. Each member of their team truly wishes to better the lives of their fellow veterans. They get back to you in a timely manner and are available to assist you with whatever you may need on a nearly-constant basis.

As a licensed social worker, I've volunteered my professional services with a number of organizations over the years. Never have I seen such selfless dedication, as I have with Veterans Rebuilding Life. VRL has a lasting impact on the community they serve. To volunteer with them is truly a unique experience, highly recommended!
